LIKE A SMALL CHILD I WEPT. I thought after seeing the movie a million times (which also had me bawling) that the book would have no effect on me, especially the part where Gogol’s father dies but there I was at 3 in the morning weeping in bed and Chuck waking up to look at me like a freak.
